The histologic images below (10x magnification) are from scar biopsies of a single patient after 14 weeks of use. One half of the scar was treated with InviCible, the other half with petroleum gel.
The side treated with petroleum gel (right) showed significant epidermal thickening with parakeratosis, inflammation and increased production of abnormal collagen.
The side treated with InviCible (left) showed a thin epidermal layer with delicate rete ridges, limited inflammation and collagen architecture closer to that of normal skin. There was no evidence of silicone deposition in the skin treated with InviCible.
