Melanocyte cells produce the skin’s natural pigment, melanin. Localized over-activity of these cells causes more melanin deposits in the skin that in turn can cause hyperpigmentation (dark spots). This is not medically dangerous but can cause emotional distress.

Safety concerns surrounding hydroquinone and kojic acid, the standard therapies for hyperpigmentation, created a need for an alternative lightening treatment. InviCible is not only very effective but also very safe since it does not contain either of these ingredients.

There are many types of dark spots:

• • Skin Spots (also known as uneven skin tone, dark spots, age spots, brown Spots, or liver spots)
    These are flat marks usually found on sun-exposed areas of skin like the backs of the hands and face. They can vary tremendously in size. They usually occur on older skin and are extremely common over the age of 40.

• • Melasma
    Melasma causes patches of dark pigmentation over the cheeks, chin or forehead. It is most commonly seen in pregnant women or shortly after childbirth. Some drugs including birth control pills, some antibiotics and anti-malarial drugs can cause melasma as a side-effect. Melasma is usually transient but can persist for many years.

• • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
    Skin injury cause an inflammatory response in the skin that can cause skin darkening in the area of the initial injury. This is very common with acne, surgery and burn scars.
